Kidson Canning Exploration and Appraisal Campaign

Kidson Energy has identified several highly prospective, drill ready targets within the Exploration Permit EP - 0143 targeting the potential liquids rich maturity windows within the Goldwyer Sequence. A number of these targets have pad preparation and full access completed, including airstrips, water wells and are ready for operations. These targets will form Phase 1 of the Kidson Canning Appraisal Campaign.

Access is via the upgraded Nyangumarta Highway which leads to the western boundary of the permit, allowing ready access to the proposed work program location.

The primary Vaucluse and Webb targets form the initial program targets and have been identified as significant anticlinal structures through 2-D reprocessing on existing seismic lines. Simultaneously a comprehensive fluid inclusions sub-salt study of most of the wells drilled in and around the Kidson sub-basin was undertaken. The results of this study identified likely hydrocarbon phases within the Ordovician stratigraphic section sub-salt in these target anticlines of both liquids and gas.

The objectives of the Kidson Canning Appraisal Campaign are to determine source rock TOC’s, kerogen typing, thermal maturity and condensate / gas ratios. In parallel reservoir quality assessments through determination of facies typing, permeability, saturations, faulting and geomechanical stress regimes, and section volumes will be completed. The acquisition program will be executed through conventional coring, wireline logging and mudlogging services.
